Léandre-Alexis Chénard Poirier completed a Ph. D. in industrial and organizational psychology at the Université de Montréal, during which he also completed a research internship in the Substantive-Methodological Synergy Research Laboratory (2017-2018) to learn advanced person-centered analyses. His thesis focused on leadership practices, abusive behaviors, and their consequences on employee functioning. He then completed a first postdoctoral fellowship in the Research Laboratory on Social Behavior at Université du Québec à Montréal, where he worked on passion for work under the supervision of Bob Vallerand. He is currently completing a second postdoctoral fellowship (January 2022-...) in the Substantive-Methodological Synergy Research Laboratory at Concordia University. His research aims to dynamically understand (i.e., complex interactions and longitudinal evolution) how supervisor's behaviors (i.e., leadership practices and abusive behaviors) or automated managerial practices influence employees' mobilization, well-being, and motivation. His work also seeks to better understand the nature of workplace well-being and its antecedents. Advanced statistical methods play a key role in his research, as they offer new tools to explore novel questions or to gain a different insight on more established theories.
