Dr. Thierno Diallo, Ph.D., is Senior Lecturer at Western Sydney University, Australia. He graduated in 2002 with a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from University Pantheon-Sorbonne (Paris, France), before moving to Canada (Quebec) to work as an applied social science data analyst (2007-2011) and completing a postdoctoral fellowship on the performance of different types of longitudinal data analytic methods (2012-2014). He has since moved to Australia, where he also worked as an applied social science data analyst (2015-2018), before accepting a faculty position at Western Sydney University (since 2018). His research focuses on the application of quantitative methods to answer questions in the social sciences and poverty alleviation research, particularly with latent variable methods including structural equation modeling (SEM), multilevel modeling (MLM), multilevel structural equation modeling (MSEM), mixture modeling, and machine learning.
Dr Diallo has taught quantitative methods and applied mathematics to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, faculty, and research scientists from the behavioral, social, and health sciences in seminars and university classes in Europe, Canada and Australia for over a decade. He has also provided consulting services to academics, research students, and research teams across three continents including in universities, corporations, non-profits, and government agencies.
